Design It Yourself: Wire Wrapped Jeweled Necklace

Hello dahlings and dolls. If you didn't know this about me, I'll tell you now. I'm an ACCESSORY FREAK, seriously. I have tons and tons of necklaces and bracelets and earrings. But, I only have one problem. Out of those tons, I only wear a few key pieces. But, take me shopping and I'll grab any piece of accessory in sight. So when I saw this DIY project, I just had to share it with you.

What you''ll need:
1 Bag of large plastic jewel stones
1 Sheet of plastic canvas
1 Yard of ribbon (local fabric store)
20 gauge wire
Pliers
Scissors
Glue (hot glue)

What to do:

Take your plastic canvas and an 8 inch plate.
Trace around the plate and cut out.
Cut inside your cut out circle to make a 1 inch thick ring.

Start glueing your stones to your plastic canvas. Mix up your colors and shapes. Keep adding until it’s all filled up.
Do not fill up your whole circle. I recommend only going up about half way, other wise it gets too stiff and you wont be able to put it around your neck.

Once you’ve finished glueing on all your stones, you can start wrapping your wire.
Start on the back side and tuck the end of your wire into your plastic canvas and crimp to hold.
Keep wrapping until you’ve wrapped the whole thing.

Take your ribbon and cut it in half.
Glue one end of each piece onto the back of your finished jeweled and wrapped necklace.


This necklace would be a beautiful addition to any girl's jewelry box. And these colors are perfect for the transition we're making from Summer to Autumn.
 

Amira Says *Raves & Rants*

School just started and it seems like I've been in school for a month or more. So yea, I'm feeling kind of busy. But, it's always nice to take a break and just write in a diary. My fashion diary, to be exact. There were some things that I just didn't like this week and things that I loved, but ended up disappointing me. So here they are: 

Rants:

I've already talked about the MTV awards, but after re-watching it, I noticed Gaby Douglas' outfit. I really didn't like it. She seemed really stiff in it and uncomfortable. After she stood next to her gymnast teammates I also noticed how short she was. And this dress does nothing good for her. It just swallows her up. This look, I believe was definitely not made for her. I mean, you can disagree with me, but as much I admire her, I didn't admire her outfit.

But, I did love her performance that night with Alicia Keys and her outfit for the dance looked better than the dress she wore that night.

Raves:

I saw this necklace online and I fell in love with it. I mean, you should have seen the smile on my face. But, then it went upside down when I saw the price. It costs $945. And if you're unlike me and can afford this you can get it from dannijo.com. This Victorian twist of a necklace was handmade in New York with Swarovski Elements. I guess I see why it cost so much

But, if you're a fashionista on a budget, I've found for you and me, a place where we can get a similar necklace. You can get this Love Me or Lace Me necklace for $8.50 from Claire's.

But, I actually love this necklace even more. Maybe almost as much as I loved the original necklace. And this actually does look a lot like the first necklace. Don't you think? You can get this Heart and Lace Choker for $11.50 at Claire's. And look it has LACE! Yay, my favorite.

My "What A Girl Wants" Weekly Wishlist

Yea, so maybe I haven't been posting my weekly wishlist weekly, but it sounds better than calling it a monthly wishlist, let's keep the w's. So anyway this week I'm gonna go to American Eagle for some shopping,(window shopping, I mean).And here's whats on my wishlist this week: 1. This is an off the shoulder dolman sweater for $49.50. So cute!
2. These hipster flare jeans are $29.99 and can go right with the dolman sweater for a casual breezy summer day.
3. I say this owl pendant for $15.50 add the finish touches to the dolman sweater and hipster jeans outift, but that's after you know, you find some shoes to go with it like a pair of sandals or flats, no heels(remember casual).
4. This has nothing to do with the last three things I've shown you although it would go nicely with the jeans this plaid shirt that can go into the category of menswear is $39.50.
5. I love this embroidered boho top for $29.99 and it would go nicely with the owl pendant. This top is amazing.

So this was my wishlist for this week, we'll talk next time about what I want when I get my lazy self up from the couch or I'll really have to change the name of my post to My "What A Girl Want" Whenever I Have Time To Post It Wishlist.
