We Found Love with Rihanna's Collection

Lately, I've been so busy, getting ready to wrap up my senior year. I chose my school. I really wanted to leave NYC and explore other cities, but I'm going to stay here. I don't think I'm going to regret it at all. People always say that when you leave NY and go to another city, you won't find anything that can match up to it. And I found that true when I went to Atlanta. So for now I guess its NYC baby!

I've also found my prom dress (still debating whether I should go lol), my dress for the senior trip dance and my graduation dress. But, I still have to prepare for my AP test coming up. But, still I feel that although there's all this craziness, I've always managed to find some time to take a breather, relax and listen to some music like. . . you know, some Rihanna. Her song Stay has been on repeat on many radio stations, maybe that was a sign that I should STAY in NY ;)

Rihanna is one of my favorite singers, but she's adding more to her resume than that. Maybe, you've heard that she's been making major moves in the fashion world with her clothing collection River Island, which she recently launched. She was even a part of Fashion Week. But, now she's decided to branch out into not only the music industry and fashion industry, but also the beauty industry.

Rihanna has her own exclusive line of makeup for MAC Cosmetics! She posted this sneak peek of her new collection on Instagram:

The collection is centered around the new shade of lipstick called "RiRi Woo," which is inspired by her favorite MAC lipstick, Ruby Woo (a deep red color).

"RiRi Hearts MAC" Collection will debuts today (May 4) as her "Diamonds" world tour ends in Brooklyn, NY. Woot, woot, right here in my hometown lol. NYC!

For those of you that go to the concert at the Barclay's Center today (May 4), there will be a pop-up shop dedicated to showcasing Rihanna's new line!

I need to get something from her collection. I love the packaging in itself. And the actual makeup would be perfect for when I decide to go to prom hmm...

Amira Says...RED (V-Day Special)

I can honestly say I was never a fan of the color red, but lately its been growing on me. After all it is a bold and powerful color and with Valentine's Day around the corner, it also represents love (although it should always represent love year round). So I'm celebrating this Valentine's Day with RED.

Repeat this several times. I love quotes and I think that this one is perfect for Valentine's Day. Whether you're in love or not, we can be blinded by things whether its a friendship or situation where we don't notice how bad it was until we're on the outside looking in. So treat yourself to something special and love yourself before you give others what you can't give yourself.

Even though many of winter days are just- bleh with grey skys, I decided to go bold with this red jacket reminding me that Spring is not too far off. After all the ground hog said so even though there was snow outside on this particular day.

Don't judge them. They have caused a lot of controversy lately with their relationship. But regardless of what happened in the past I've always loved them together and never gave up hope. I'm glad they're back together. And they look really happy. And by no means am I saying to return to a situation where you're having issues and you don't feel good about it (that's what the quote was for ^). But I believe that if you find a way to solve the problem and overcome everything and end up happy in the end that's what really matters.

The Winter-Spring Dilemma

Before you know it winter will be transitioning into spring. But, I've always had that dilemma where I didn't know how to dress for the weather. In the morning, it would be like 32 degrees and by the afternoon, it be around 60 degrees. I would feel like a fool in my jacket because by the time the afternoon came around it was seeping with hotness. But, if I decided to leave my jacket at home, I would freeze myself to death in the morning.

So I guess that's where layering comes in. Instead, wearing a big bulky coat, wearing layers would make it easier for me to adapt to the weather throughout the day.




I was never good at piling on clothes and making them look nice together. Looking at myself in the mirror, I felt like I looked like a homeless person trying to carry all the clothes I could. But, recently I've been getting the handle of this using leggings, scarves, blazers, sweaters and hats.

I am a huge fan of scarves. And I think Willow Smith feels the same way. It may seem like the purpose of a scarf is to only keep you warm outside, but they look great indoors and come in a stylish variety. And guess what, they're easy to pull off when you feel the Spring air coming on.

I admire Zendaya's style. Both, on screen and off screen, she has a tendency to layer. Her signature style is to pile different colors and sizes of shirts that complement each other and adding designed tights to her outfit. Wearing a short sleeve shirt under a long sleeve open button down shirt is a style I use frequently. Blazers also work well in layering.

Light jackets, vests and hats make it easier to transition. I love the way Rihanna does this with her button up shirt, jean jacket and fur vest. She keeps herself warm in the early morning hours and peels it off as it starts to get warmer.

Spring into Ponytails

I've taken my braids out and now I'm wondering what I should exactly do with my hair. Ponytails is a style that's always in. Even though most people go with the simple ponytails I've learned that there's so much you can actually do with a ponytail. And it's perfect for Spring when you want to keep things simple but still go all out.

This type of ponytail is effortless and timeless. Just gather your hair to the side and tie it up with a ribbon and viola!

This is another side ponytail, but it's more of an up-do. For those of us with  short hair (if you're really willing) you can buy a ponytail that's your hair color to make your hair look longer.

This is a ponytail for people who have naturally curly hair or short hair.  I love the way Adrienne Bailon just tied it up and added a double head band.

Christina Milan went with the simple ponytail and teased  it, then tied it up. Fabulous!

Leave the best for last. I love how Rihanna used a head scarf and tied it around her head as a bow. Lately people have been doing this with bandannas

See ponytails are actually not bad and doesn't always have to be a simple ponytail. You can try a slicked back ponytail or a messy curly one or even an effortless one. There's so many accessories you can add to this do like what Rihanna did or you can use a bandanna like people are doing nowadays. You can even add a flower or special pin. Celebrities and models are into ponytails now. Just look down the runway or at an award show.

Don't Sweat It!

We all have those days when we're feeling tired and lazy and don't feel like changing out of our sweats and we may walk outside with them. But, who would of ever thought of turning sweats into a fashion statement. Lately, people have been pairing up sweats and heels. It's even been on the runway. Just look:

Alexander Wang and Elie Tahari have added sweats as a part of their collection pairing it up with maybe a blazer or so and some heels.


Even Rihanna looks relaxed with her sweats and heels.

Mariah Carey takes a walk with her hubby Nick Cannon sporting this trend.


Look at these girlies looking fabulous on the streets of New York City with sweats and heels. This could be you. So next time you don't feel like changing out of your sweats, don't sweat it just go and strut down the block with some heels. You'll look fabulous. The trick is to make sure the sweats aren't baggy, get skinny sweats, but then again baggy sweats will probably look great,too.

Grammy Award Looks

I not only watch the Grammy's to see my favorite stars win awards but for the FASHION! and this year, it was amaziinnng.

I adore this dress but I don't feel like it fits Katy Perry's personality. It's more like a Marilyn Monroe dress or for older people.


I thought this dress was odd and I did not like it at all. I love you Nicki, but not the dress. She looks like a crab, sorry.

There was a big pompadour trend going on at the Grammys and it looked fabulous!

There was also a black dress trend....

This was my favorite look at the Grammys. The hair was great and her dress was hot. And her make up just fits perfectly. If I was on Fashion Police, I vote Rihanna the best dressed.

Many people wore black dresses including Rebecca Black and Guilianna Rancic.

I just have to say Happy Birthday to my awesome unique, stylish, daredevil fashionista and best friend Rihanna ( she doesn't know it yet, though). She's turning 23. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!

Dare To Be Different

I'm thinking about cutting my hair and and changing my hair color to a brownish red. I think it's time to start the new year with some changes. I'm gonna join the hair color battle in the world of celebrities, although I'm not a celebrity and I may never be. I'll be battling against Katy Pery (to the left) with her black hair and blue and pink highlights, Rihanna (right next to Katy Perry) with her bright red hair. Wow, that's gonna be hard to beat. I'll also be battling Nicki Minaj (to the right) with her pink hair and every other color that's she's already worn. Looks like I have some competition. And you may be wondering about the girl between Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, don't worry she's not that important. She's just like everyone else, which is what I don't wanna be. Someone once told me "Dare to be Different" and that's exactly what I'm gonna do. Later ;)
