Amira Says *Rants and Raves* Edition

Hey dolls! Miss me? I know I've missed my diary with the studying I've been doing for all my major tests. I've also done some shopping, so I can check two things off my Spring wishlist. I bought the black tank top that will go under my African patterned crop shirt. I also bought the Brash roll on eye shadow from Payless which also happened to be on sale. I love to find bargains. If I had my own camera I'd take pictures for you guys, so I guess I should add a camera to my list, too and call it Amira's Glam Cam. 

Anyway so here are some of my rants and raves of the week:

Rants:

I used to admire Katy Perry's style, but lately not so much. I've seen her a lot of places and I can see that her style has changed (maybe it had to do with the divorce). I shouldn't be the one to judge since everyone has the right to be different and original, but at the Kid's Choice Awards she stood out so much that I almost mistakened her for a highlighter. This was definitely not one of her best looks. Try again, Katy. You may need to fire your stylist if that's who dressed you up.

Raves:

One of the things I had on my spring wishlist was skirts, both long and short. But, now I can probably just save my money and invest in an asymmetrical skirt. It has the mixture of both a maxi and a mini. I also loved how my fellow blogger paired her floral asymmetrical skirt with the rest of her outfit to create a grunge look. She looks fabulous!

I'm also working on a new blog. I will launch Amira's Notebook soon where you can see what life is actually like for me from the music I'm listening to, things I like, pictures from places I've been and life with friends and family. So be on the look out for that.

Grammy Award Looks

I not only watch the Grammy's to see my favorite stars win awards but for the FASHION! and this year, it was amaziinnng.

I adore this dress but I don't feel like it fits Katy Perry's personality. It's more like a Marilyn Monroe dress or for older people.


I thought this dress was odd and I did not like it at all. I love you Nicki, but not the dress. She looks like a crab, sorry.

There was a big pompadour trend going on at the Grammys and it looked fabulous!

There was also a black dress trend....

This was my favorite look at the Grammys. The hair was great and her dress was hot. And her make up just fits perfectly. If I was on Fashion Police, I vote Rihanna the best dressed.

Many people wore black dresses including Rebecca Black and Guilianna Rancic.

With spring coming soon (yea I have connections with the groundhog) it's time to figure out how you're going to show off those nails. Nicole by Opi has had many colaborations with celebrities for their nail line. So if you want to flaunt your nails like a celebrity this is the entry to read.

There's so much to choose from. All this is available at Target, Sears and Walmart. Which line do you plan to rock this spring? I know what I have in mind.

Nominees for the Most Creative and Unique Dresser of the Year Awards. Yea, that was a penful to write. But anyway today is the last day of 2011 and everyone always talks about the best dressed of 2011, but what about the most creative and unique dresser of the year? That's why I'm having my own mini award show. So here are my picks:

Nicki Minaj

Even this is a little crazy I still love this outfit.

This is probably one of Nicki Minaj's only semi normal outfits in her wardrobe. But I love this one too.

Katy Perry

Looks like Katy took this outfit back to the diner days, when diners were the hang out spot for teens. I j'adore her hair color.

This is so cute and I love blue. Her make up looks great too.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is known for her style and multiple characters. This one looks like Lady Gaga is a lady warrior. Not anything I would wear, and probably nothing you would wear, but that's probably what makes her so unique and one of the nominees.

Dare To Be Different

I'm thinking about cutting my hair and and changing my hair color to a brownish red. I think it's time to start the new year with some changes. I'm gonna join the hair color battle in the world of celebrities, although I'm not a celebrity and I may never be. I'll be battling against Katy Pery (to the left) with her black hair and blue and pink highlights, Rihanna (right next to Katy Perry) with her bright red hair. Wow, that's gonna be hard to beat. I'll also be battling Nicki Minaj (to the right) with her pink hair and every other color that's she's already worn. Looks like I have some competition. And you may be wondering about the girl between Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, don't worry she's not that important. She's just like everyone else, which is what I don't wanna be. Someone once told me "Dare to be Different" and that's exactly what I'm gonna do. Later ;)
